Beginning in 2018, Harns implemented Industry 4.0 principles at the printing units of the world's largest circulated English language newspaper, connecting press operations so production data could be seen and acted on centrally rather than site by site.

We embarked on a groundbreaking initiative in 2018 to implement Industry 4.0 principles at the printing units of the world’s largest English newspaper, the Times of India. At Harns, we strive to help companies bring their vision into reality, and achieve The Next Big Thing.
With Industry 4.0, we aimed to bridge the gap between the CXOs and the executives and create data transparency. Our objective was to optimize the printing process, enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and most importantly collect and show all the data in a consolidated digital dashboard.
The implementation involved integrating advanced technologies such as the Internet of Things (IoT), big data analytics,and artificial intelligence (AI) into the existing infrastructure.
Through the strategic deployment of IoT sensors, we enabled real-time monitoring of the entire printing operation, enabling predictive maintenance and minimizing downtime. This data-driven approach facilitated proactive decision-making, preventing potential issues and optimizing machine performance.
The utilization of big data analytics and AI algorithms enabled the implementation of predictive modeling, resulting in optimized resource allocation, reduced waste, and improved energy efficiency.
The pioneering project not only improved operational efficiency but also demonstrates the immense potential of Industry 4.0.
